7th Annual Men's Health Night at SOCH

On Wednesday, March 22, men in southern Ocean County will take advantage of free health screenings, physician-sponsored lectures and a host of interactive educational displays featuring information on SOCH services for men. It’s all part of Southern Ocean County Hospital’s 7th annual Men’s Health Night on Wednesday, March 22 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm on the first floor of the Hospital.

The free health screenings will include:

  • Blood pressure
  • Colon Rectal
  • Grip Strength
  • Pulmonary Function
  • Blood Sugar
  • Foot
  • Hearing
  • DermaScan


The program will also offer a Lipid Profile, which includes total cholesterol and triglycerides. Participants who wish to have a Lipid Profile need to come to SOCH to have their blood drawn two days before the event on Monday morning, March 20. The blood draw is held in the morning, since participants need to fast for 12 hours prior to having their blood drawn. The results of the Lipid Profile will be available during Men’s Health Night. Those wishing to have a Lipid Profile must register with SOCHConnect by calling 609-978-3400.

Free health lectures by SOCH physicians will also be offered during the event. At 7:10 pm, SOCH Surgeon Dr. Sergey Grachev will speak on Minimally Invasive Surgery; at 7:50 pm, SOCH Urologist Dr. Charles Fernicola will speak on Prostate Health and at 8:30 pm, SOCH Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Jason Wong will speak on Joint Replacement Surgery.

Men’s Health Night will feature educational displays from community agencies, and information on SOCH services, including Cardiac Catheterization, The Diabetes Self Management Program, EldeMed, SOCHConnect, Nutritional Services, Home Health and Hospice, Interfaith Health & Support Services, Transitional Care Unut, Volunteer Services, Lifeline, Fitness programs, and the CPR Center
